We are excited to announce the publication of our latest research paper, exploring a GPT-based in human-robot teaming.

We are excited to announce the publication of our latest research paper, "Exploring a GPT-based large language model for variable autonomy in a VR-based human-robot teaming simulation". As autonomous tools and robots become integral to our digital landscape, our research delves into the cutting-edge integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) like Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) in human-robot teaming environments.

The core of our study involved a user study with 12 participants, exploring the effectiveness of GPT-4 in facilitating natural language interaction within a simulated multi-robot environment. Our findings revealed that while users often approached the interaction with preconceived notions about communicating with robots, those who experimented with the system experienced a more natural and human-like exchange.

We invite you to explore our full findings and join us in the ongoing conversation about the future of human-robot collaboration: https://doi.org/10.3389/frobt.2024.1347538.
